First Baptist Church of Marshall will be hosting the 144th Annual Meeting of the Southwestern Association of Baptist Churches on Saturday, April 2 from 9 AM to 3 PM. The featured speaker will be Greg Stiekes, pastor of Bethany Bible Church in Hendersonville, NC and former Youth Pastor at Fourth Baptist Church in Plymouth, MN under Doug MacLachlan. He will be addressing the topic of “Shaping the Next Generation.” The sessions are intended to be of help to any beliver in a local church involved in a teaching ministry of any capacity (which would include parents and grandparents). Topics Greg will address will include:
- What Are We Doing, Anyway? The Goal of Our Teaching
- Shaping the Moral Imagination through Our Teaching
- Recognizing and Encouraging Spiritual Growth
A staffed nursery for infants and toddlers will be provided, as will a dedicated session for children 6th grade and under during the first business session.
